NexusCloud — Local-First Cloud Storage & Google Drive Remote Sync
Purpose of the Application
NexusCloud is a high-performance cloud storage and productivity web application. The primary purpose of this application is to allow users to securely store, organize, edit, and synchronize files across their local device storage (Origin Private File System) and Google Drive.
When users connect their Google Drive account, NexusCloud acts as a remote sync peer, allowing them to import Google Drive files into their local workspace, export local files to Google Drive, and edit documents in real-time with zero RAM overhead.
Why NexusCloud Requests Google Drive Permissions
NexusCloud requests access to Google Drive scopes exclusively to provide user-requested file management features:
- File Browsing & Sync: To list, search, and download user-selected Google Drive files directly into the local workspace.
- File Export & Creation: To upload and backup local documents, images, and code files to Google Drive folders.
- Live Document Editing: To allow users to open, view, and save text, code, and markdown documents stored in Google Drive.
- Sharing & Collaboration: To manage link-sharing permissions and invite collaborators upon user request.
NexusCloud's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
